Footnote (叶) (mini)
Nestled Ellipsis
Historically, the asterisk (*) and dagger (†) are used as the first and second footnote respectively. These symbols are used to indicate in the main text that there is additional information to be read at the foot of the page. These footnotes may not be seen as an essential part but no doubt a part of the text. These footnotes complete the main text, they make it whole.
When the asterisk and dagger are placed side by side *†, it looks like "叶" - the Chinese character for leaf. Similarly, a leaf may seem like an insignificant part of a tree in terms of size but it plays a role too. It gives the tree its foliage and it is also the food production site of the tree.
So...embrace all the small things in life, they happen for a reason - they, make you too.
