At times, we like to send a message - not as long as a letter but not as short as a postcard too. Something in between...and with a little more privacy.
The accordion card fills this gap perfectly. It is a hybrid-cross between a letter and a post card. It is as compact as a postcard yet when the accordion card is stretch out, it provides the writer an extended space to pen his/her message(s). The content is snugly secured within the covers of the card and sealed with stickers.
This collection consist of designs inspired by various Chinese characters. While doodling, we realised that the form of some Chinese characters resembles the object it depicts. A pictorial word...A picture within a word (画中有话).

To mark this occasion, we came up with the design below which we feel depicts the occasion aptly. The design stems from the Chinese character "闩", which means latch. In a pictorial sense, "闩" has an outline which looks like a door and the horizontal line within it seems like a latch securing its entrance. Interestingly, this Chinese character is actually made up of two separate Chinese characters: door "门" and one "一 ". To open one's door, one must first remove the latch securing it.
